About the Artist

Patricia A. Hunter

Painting is My Passion

Growing up in the Greater Chicago area, I visited the Art Institute of Chicago often and I credit these early art encounters as the basis for my desire to be an oil painter.  Being a full-time professional artist has been a life-long dream.  For years, I would take night classes and weekend workshops to learn to draw and paint.  Since retiring from my 38 year career as a real estate broker, I am living this dream while I continue to study my craft.

Currently, I am studyig with Artist Richard Stergulz of  The Green Art House in Bonsall, CA.  Former teachers include:  Paul Ryker, Raye Anne Marks, Perietta Hester, Helen Shafer Garcia and Leon Okun, a Russian Master.

Subjects of my work are varied as I try to express the beauty I see and feel.  Nature, People,  Moments, Animals - wild and farm as well as pets.

My work is regularly exhibited in historic Escondido, CA at ESCOARTS at 121 W. Grand Ave.,   Other current and recent exhibits include: Escondido City Hall,  Poway Performing Arts Center and the gallery in North Inland Credit Union in Escondido.
